During 2017, the first phase of Ayitic Goes Global focused on surveying and analyzing the data needed to specify the following components:
• Employment: Online employment opportunities for Haitian women. Research focused on the study of North American markets and trends in the service outsourcing industry. (3x3 Design)
• Target Group: Characteristics of the target group (students): young women and ICT technicians in Port-au-Prince. (ESIH)
• Internet Access in Haiti: Mapping the major connectivity limitations affecting the initiative. (ESIH)
• Pedagogy: Pedagogical strategies for implementing online training in the context of Haiti. (The SlashRoots Foundation)Data collection included in-depth interviews with representatives of the Haitian ICT sector and the North American service outsourcing industry, case study of online ICT training programs in Latin America and the Caribbean, and two online surveys among members of the service outsourcing industry, potential students, and organizations that are part of the Haitian Internet ecosystem.
Based on this information and its analysis, three reports were prepared:
